Community and voluntary controlled schools in Northumberland follow the admissions policy for Northumberland County Council.

This can be found in the relevant admissions handbooks, which can be found below. If the school you are applying for is voluntary-aided, foundation, trust school or academy, they have their own admissions policy. This is detailed in section five of the handbook.

You must read the admissions handbook and check the relevant admissions policy for each school you are applying for, prior to completing your application.

If you feel there are special circumstances regarding your child’s application, or have evidence of exceptional medical or social needs, evidence must be supported in a written statement by a third party, such as a doctor or social worker.

Supporting evidence should set out why the school being suggested is most suitable. You will not be allocated a place due to special circumstances unless you send a written statement from a professional third party at the time of application. It is the parent’s responsibility to submit any third party evidence as we cannot access this information on your behalf.
